Committees
DANA is organized into standing committees, each of which represents a key area of activity. Each committee chair serves on the Board of Directors and is charged with organizing interested members to pursue the responsibilities of the committee:
Urban Planning – monitors transportation, land use, and architectural concerns by reviewing developer plans and issues statements of support or opposition as appropriate.
Parks and Open Spaces – monitors the condition of downtown parks, streetscapes, and trails and participates in planning as appropriate.
Social Activities – organizes monthly happy hours as well as an annual block party for the presentation of awards for best downtown developments.
Membership – recruits new members and is responsible for generating the majority of the revenues of the association.
Transportation – focused on various aspects of mobility of residents, workers, and tourists through, in and around downtown.
Business Relations –
Developer Relations – serves as liason between property owners and developers building in downtown Austin.
Communications – gathers input from members and the community and educates them about issues and events affecting downtown.
