2006 DOWNTOWN LIVING TOURA Celebration of Downtown Living and LifestylesThe Downtown Austin Neighborhood Association's (DANA's)3rd Annual Downtown Living Tour took place on Sunday, May 21, 2006 from noon to 5 p.m. Participants were encouraged to take a walking tour of downtown residences to get a feel for the downtown living experience. Numerous downtown residential buildings offered tours, including the Milago Condominiums, 5 Fifty Five, The Brazos Lofts, The Avenue Lofts and The Plaza Lofts.DANA was pleased to have the Honorable Kirk Watson (former Mayor of Austin, and candidate for the Texas Senate, District 14) as the the Honorary Chair for this year’s event.At the conclusion of the Tour a Reception was held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, where all Tour attendees were invited to partake in free food and drink, at the Milago Condominiums at 54 Rainey St., where Mayor Will Wynn and the Honorable Kirk Watson spoke and the 2006 DANA Downtown Living Tour Awards (recognizing the favorite residential units on the Tour) were handed out! (Also, Mayor Wynn presented DANA with a City of Austin Proclamation, declaring May 21st, 2006 "Downtown Austin Neighborhood Association Day" in Austin!)Proceeds: A portion of the Tour proceeds will go to the Town Lake Trail Foundation Landscape Lighting Project.
