Downtown Sidewalks Are Not BillboardsCourtesy of Jamie Lagarde DANA is a big supporter of the annual SXSW conference. It is a great event bringing the world to Downtown Austin! As fantastic as it is, do companies have to paint their logos on downtown sidewalks? It has been 5 months since the event and we still see sidewalks like the picture here. The city should ask Whrrl to clean this up and fine anyone who does it next year.
Go Fly a Kite DowntownCourtesy of Jamie Lagarde
One recent sunny afternoon l happened to spot a family enjoying the nice day by flying a kite. It wasn’t in a park or a field as you might expect, but on top of the parking garage of the Monarch on 5th St. It was quite resourceful of them, but it made we wonder. What if that space would have been a green park instead of a concrete parking level? It would be a much nicer place to fly a kite. Maybe even nice enough to have a picnic as well.
