DANA Bike Master Plan and Digital Billboards Survey Results

The results are in!

In June, we asked DANA members for their opinions on two important policy issues affecting downtown.

One issue is the November 2016 transportation bond election that will likely include funding for implementing some of the City of Austin Bicycle Master Plan. The city is also considering revisiting signage regulations to allow digital billboards.

DANA members expressed strong support for prioritizing the bike master plan and pedestrian improvements in the transportation bond. A majority of poll respondents also expressed opposition to allowing digital billboards.

DANA Survey – Urban Blight / Urban Light Awards

Screen Shot 2016-01-12 at 12.45.51 AM

DANA is looking to recognize the very best (and also shed light on the worst) in Downtown Austin to help encourage a vibrant urban environment for our city and to call out some of the aspects of downtown that hinder us from getting to that greater vision.

Nominations can be of buildings, policies or other aspects of living downtown.

Also, we would like to request nominations for a downtowner who works hard to make a difference in our urban community. It is named in honor of our friend, former Board Member and legal advisor, David Weaver, who contributed greatly to this organization before sadly passing away.

Submit your nominations online here by end of day on Friday, February 5th!

All submissions will be compiled anonymously and voted on by the Board at the February Board retreat. Awards will be given out at this year’s annual meeting in February!

Urban Light Award
What aspect of downtown points us towards a brighter future?

Urban Blight Award
What aspect of downtown, a recent project or a long lingering issue is representative of what we hope to avoid in Austin’s Urban Center?

David Weaver Memorial Award for Individual Service
Who is selflessly making a difference for DANA and Downtown?

Thank you for being involved in DANA!
