Volunteers will meet Saturday, August, 9, 2025 outside The Independent (301 West Ave. at 8:45 am, with the clean-up commencing at 9 am.

The monthly collaboration continues with APD, the Downtown Austin Alliance (DAA), and the Downtown Austin Community Court to assist with this important initiative.

WHAT: Great Streets Update Open House

WHEN: Wednesday, Aug. 13, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Austin Central Library @ 710 W. Cesar Chavez St.

The Planning Department’s Urban Design team invites you to learn about and weigh in on the Great Streets Plan Update. The goal of the update is to work with the community to create a modernized vision for Downtown Austin’s public streetscapes and sidewalks. To mark the first phase of community engagement, the team will host an open house at the Austin Central Library where attendees will have the opportunity to learn about and provide feedback on the update.

Council Member Qadri is hosting a FY 2025-2026 Budget Open House event Thursday, July 17th. District 9 residents will hear a presentation from the City’s Budget Officer, Kerri Lang, remarks from Council Member Qadri, and then he will make his way around the room chatting with folks individually about their concerns and priorities for the City of Austin’s FY 2025-2026 budget. Dinner will be served, so RSVPs for each person is encouraged to ensure there is plenty of food.

Council Member Qadri is hosting a town hall with State Senator Sarah Eckhardt (Senate District 14) this Saturday, June 14th at 2:00pm at Austin City Hall. They will be taking questions submitted both online and in-person across a variety of topics – all district 9 residents are welcome to attend and to submit a question.
